Best value in London

Our prices are transparent and among the most competitive in London for private wart removal. You’ll be treated by experienced doctors who perform these procedures regularly, offering the same level of care found in leading NHS hospitals, but without the waiting lists or delays.

Same-day treatment for peace of mind

If warts are confirmed during your consultation, removal can usually be carried out immediately. Most patients leave feeling relieved and confident that the problem is dealt with.

Cryotherapy or surgical removal - the most effective options

We use cryotherapy or minor surgical excision depending on the size and number of warts. These are clinically proven to offer the highest clearance rates. Laser wart removal is sometimes mentioned online, but it’s generally less effective for genital areas and not offered at our clinic.

Genital warts usually appear as small, skin-coloured or slightly darker growths on or around the genitals, anus, groin, or upper thighs.

They can be:

  • Flat, raised, or cauliflower-like in appearance.
  • Smooth or rough to touch.
  • Singular or clustered in groups.

Some people notice itching, irritation, or a change in skin texture, while others have no symptoms at all. Because the appearance can vary, it’s important not to self-diagnose based on photos or online information.

Where genital warts can appear

  • In men, genital warts can develop on the penis, scrotum, groin, or around the anus.
  • In women, they often appear on the vulva, vagina, cervix, or surrounding skin.
  • Warts can also occur in the mouth or throat through oral transmission, though this is less common.

How we diagnose genital warts

At London Wart Clinic, diagnosis is made through a private medical examination carried out by an experienced doctor. In most cases, warts can be identified visually without the need for lab tests. If there’s any uncertainty, the doctor may recommend a biopsy or HPV test to confirm the diagnosis. You’ll receive a clear explanation of your results during the same visit, along with personalised treatment options. If appropriate, removal can be carried out on the same day for complete peace of mind.

At London Wart Clinic, we provide two main treatment options, cryotherapy and surgical removal, which are proven to be the most effective methods for clearing genital warts safely and with minimal recurrence. Both are carried out by experienced doctors in a discreet clinical setting.

Cryotherapy (freezing treatment)

Cryotherapy involves applying liquid nitrogen directly to the wart to freeze and destroy the affected tissue.

  • Works best for small or moderate-sized warts

  • Quick procedure, usually completed within minutes

  • Mild stinging or redness may occur briefly afterwards

  • Multiple sessions may be needed depending on the number of warts

  • Cryotherapy is a reliable option when warts are few in number and located externally on the skin

Surgical removal (excision or cautery)

For larger, clustered, or resistant warts, minor surgical removal offers the fastest and most permanent result.

  • Performed under local anaesthetic for comfort

  • Warts are precisely removed using excision or cauterisation

  • Immediate clearance with minimal downtime

  • Low recurrence rate when compared with topical or laser methods

  • This is the preferred treatment for patients who want immediate results or have previously tried creams or freezing without success

What about laser wart removal?

Although laser wart removal is sometimes mentioned online, it is not the most effective solution for genital areas. The heat from the laser can cause unnecessary irritation and longer recovery times. We focus on cryotherapy and surgical excision, which consistently achieve better outcomes for our patients.

Same-day treatment available

In most cases, your consultation and treatment can take place on the same day, saving you time and stress. Your doctor will recommend the best approach based on the size, number, and location of the warts, as well as your medical history.

Healing after genital wart removal is usually straightforward. Most patients can resume daily activities right away, with mild sensitivity or redness lasting only a few days.
You’ll be given tailored aftercare advice to help protect the treated area and promote fast recovery.

Avoid sexual contact until the skin has completely healed and keep the area clean and dry. Our medical team is available if you need reassurance or follow-up care at any stage.

Types of Genital Warts and Related Growths

Thin, smooth lesions that blend into the surrounding skin. Often found on the cervix, penis shaft, or inner thighs. These may be subtle and require a trained eye to diagnose.

The most recognisable type, bumpy clusters that resemble a small cauliflower. Usually appear around the vulva, penis, scrotum, or anus.

Tougher, thicker growths that can appear dry or crusted. Often found on drier areas of skin and may need surgical removal for complete clearance.

Occur inside the vagina, anus, or on the cervix. These are less visible but can cause itching, bleeding, or discomfort during intimacy.

Soft, flesh-coloured flaps of skin sometimes mistaken for warts. Skin tags are non-viral and harmless but can be removed easily for comfort or cosmetic reasons.

Small, uniform bumps around the head of the penis that are completely normal and not caused by HPV. We often see patients concerned they are warts, our doctors can confirm the difference quickly.

Viral bumps similar in appearance to warts, caused by a different virus (poxvirus). Commonly appear in clusters and can also be removed safely in-clinic.
